Santwell is a load cell company specializing in R&D, production and sales of high precision weighing sensor products.
Industrial weighing systems don't tolerate inconsistency. Whether you're running an electronic scale on a production floor, a floor scale in a logistics hub, or a hopper scale in a bulk processing facility, the sensors behind the system need to perform the same way every single time. That's exactly what the SQC Series was designed to deliver.
The SQC Series proximity sensors are developed specifically for use in industrial weighing environments — electronic scales, floor scales, monorail scales, and hopper scales included. These are settings where vibration is constant, loads shift unpredictably, and any sensor failure translates directly into downtime or measurement error.
Non-contact detection is at the heart of how the SQC Series works. Without physical contact between the sensor and the target, wear is eliminated, maintenance intervals are extended, and signal output stays consistent even in conditions that would degrade a conventional contact-based sensor over time.
The SQC Series currently includes five models. Each shares the same core engineering but is tailored to different installation requirements, sensing distances, and connector preferences.
SQC (Standard) The foundation of the series. Compact and straightforward to mount, the standard SQC handles routine detection tasks across most weighing setups. A reliable choice when the application is conventional and the priority is cost-effective performance.
SQC-12K Optimized for environments with elevated vibration or restricted mounting space. The SQC-12K features a reinforced leg design that keeps the sensor firmly positioned even when surrounding machinery creates significant movement — a common challenge in floor scale and monorail scale installations.
SQC-12 The 12mm-diameter model and the most widely deployed in the series. It integrates cleanly with major PLC systems and handles metal detection, position confirmation, and load presence sensing with consistent accuracy. Straightforward wiring, broad compatibility.
SQC-12Z When the application demands detection across a greater distance without physical proximity, the SQC-12Z is the right tool. Extended sensing range makes it well-suited for hopper fill monitoring, conveyor-to-scale transfer confirmation, and other tasks where maintaining clearance between sensor and target is operationally important.
SQC-M12 Fitted with a standard M12 threaded connector, the SQC-M12 plugs directly into the industrial wiring infrastructure most facilities already have in place. No custom wiring, no adapters — just a clean, standardized connection that saves installation time and reduces the risk of field wiring errors. The preferred choice for OEMs and system integrators building repeatable, scalable systems.

The 5V–12V operating voltage range means the SQC Series fits into both low-voltage embedded control systems and standard 12V industrial setups without requiring a dedicated power supply or voltage converter. This flexibility is particularly useful in mixed-voltage environments where different pieces of equipment run on different supply rails.
The -30°C to +70°C working temperature range covers the full spectrum of typical industrial plant conditions — from unheated cold storage facilities and outdoor installations in winter climates, through to heat-intensive manufacturing floors and processing lines running near furnaces or dryers. The sensor won't drift or drop out at temperature extremes, which matters in applications where recalibration is disruptive and unplanned.
A sensor failure in a weighing application rarely stops at just the sensor. It can throw off calibration, trigger false readings, halt an automated line, or cause product to be mis-sorted or mis-packaged. The SQC Series reduces that risk by combining robust mechanical construction with stable, interference-resistant signal output — so the weighing system performs as designed, shift after shift.
Whether you're equipping a single machine or sourcing for a full production deployment, the SQC Series offers a model for the job. Full technical specifications, dimensional drawings, and application guidance are available on request.
